About Kristal’s Paws and Cuddles

  • Why should I choose Kristal's Paws & Cuddles, LTD or KPAC?

When you hire Kristal's Paws and Cuddles, Ltd. you're not only hiring a dependable and trustworthy pet sitter with flexible scheduling, you're also hiring a licensed company that is insured, Pet CPR & First Aid Trained and Certified for the safety of your pets and your home. Kristal is very loving, dependable and trustworthy, and she will take the best care of your pets in the comfort of your own home. Kristal will follow their normal routine, including their diet and exercise schedule. Most importantly, your pet is guaranteed to receive a lot of love and personal attention while you're away.

  • Where is Kristal's Paws and Cuddles located and what areas do they cover?

Great question! Kristal's Paws & Cuddles, or KPAC, is located in Mebane, NC. Our service areas include: Mebane, Efland, Graham, Gibsonville, Swepsonville, Whitsett, Burlington, Hillsborough, Durham, Carrboro, and Chapel Hill.

Do you charge for Meet & Greets?

The first Meet & Greet is complimentary for all new clients! This initial visit helps me get acquainted and ensures I have all the details needed to care for your pet.  If you add a new pet to your household or there are any significant changes in your pet's routine, I may require an additional meet & greet. This will incur a $25 fee. Below are some examples of when an additional Meet & Greet is needed:

  1. A New Pet
If you’ve added a new dog, cat, or other pet to your family, I’ll need to meet them before providing care.

  2. Changes to Your Pet’s Routine
If your pet’s care needs have changed (e.g., medications, feeding schedule, or behavior), we’ll do an updated walk-through.

  3. If You Move
A new home means new logistics! If you’ve relocated, I’ll need to familiarize myself with your new place.

  4. Significant Time Passed
If it’s been more than one year since our last visit, a follow-up meet & greet can help me reconnect with your pet, especially if they don’t remember me.

  5. Other Household Changes
Major changes (new roommates, babies, pets, or even construction) may require a quick refresher meet & greet to ensure I know your pet’s needs and your home’s new layout.

Services & Scheduling

  • How far in advance should I book your services?

Kristal’s Paws and Cuddles is often booked weeks or even months in advance, especially during holidays and busy travel seasons. To secure your preferred dates, we strongly recommend booking as early as possible. While we understand that plans can change unexpectedly, availability for short-notice requests (within 48 hours) is very limited. Booking early helps ensure we can provide the care your pets deserve.

  • Does Kristal’s Paws and Cuddles board pets at her home?

KPAC does not board pets in her home. However, I provide daily visits for your pets or I can stay overnight as well. KPAC will gladly customize a schedule to fit the needs of your pet. I've found that pets are much happier in the comfort of their own home.

  • Can you care for multiple pets at the same time?

Yes! I love caring for multiple pets and can easily accommodate more than one animal during our visits. Just let me know how many pets you have and any special considerations for each, so I can tailor our service to meet all their needs.

Pet Care

  • What vaccinations should my pets have?

All dogs MUST be currently licensed and up to date on their rabies vaccine. The only exceptions are puppies still undergoing their puppy shot routine. Cats should be vaccinated but it is not a requirement.

  • What kind of animals do you care for?

Kristal's Paws & Cuddles provides tender love and care for almost any animal, as long as they don't pose a threat to Kristal and her safety and well-being. Kristal's Paws & Cuddles will not care for any animals that have a history of biting, aggression, fighting or attacking other animals or people. If you are not completely sure that your dog will allow a pet sitter into your home while you are NOT there, then we cannot accept the pet sitting assignment. Entering your home when you are away is a condition of our pet sitting service; attempting to care for a potentially aggressive dog puts the pet sitter at risk and does not allow us to fulfill our promise to you to care for your pets and home. If you did not realize that your dog would be aggressive (growl bearing teeth, nip at pet sitter’s hand while attempting to put on leash, etc.), and we have already begun pet sitting, then we will do our best to finish our assignment as agreed. If we are unable to provide normal pet sitting duties due to your pet’s aggressiveness (walk your dog, get him or her outside to go potty), then regular fees will apply. Further, you may be responsible for your pet sitter’s medical fees should your dog bite or otherwise injure the sitter.

  • What if my pet has special needs or medical conditions?

Kristal’s Paws and Cuddles is happy to care for pets with special needs, including administering medications, following special diets, or managing medical conditions. Please be sure to provide detailed instructions during your Meet and Greet so we can prepare accordingly and provide the highest level of care your pet requires.

  • What if my pet doesn’t get along with other animals?

We understand that some pets prefer their own space. All visits are private and take place in your home, so your pets won’t come into contact with other animals during our visits. We respect your pet’s comfort and boundaries to ensure a safe, stress-free experience.

Visit Details

  • What do you do during your visits?

KPAC's pet-sitting visits include: Feeding your pets per your instructions, fresh water, dogs walked or backyard playtime, litter box cleaned, medication given if needed (AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE). We will also make sure your mail and newspaper are brought in, plants watered, lights on and off, trash taken out, and PLENTY OF TLC!

  • I’d like to know a little bit more about the Overnight Pet-Sitting Services.

Overnight visits are provided to give you peace of mind of knowing that your home is being looked after as well as your pets. Knowing that everyone's travel times vary, KPAC's will work with your schedule. So, if you don't need anyone to arrive at your home until 2pm, then that's the time we will schedule. If your pets are used to sleeping in your bed with you, KPAC is happy to have them sleep in the bed with us too!

  • What exactly is the Bed & Breakfast Package?

The Bed & Breakfast Package is a great alternative to overnight visits. If your pet doesn’t need anyone to stay with them overnight, KPAC will make arrangements to stop by each morning & evening to feed your pets breakfast and dinner, and take them for a walk during both visits.

Communication & Emergencies

  • Will you let me know how my pet is doing while I'm away?

You better believe it! KPAC sends text messages, pictures and/or videos during her visits so you'll know just how well your pets are being taken care of while you're away. Additionally, a Paws and Cuddles Report Card will be left after each visit to provide a personalized summary of your pet’s behavior, mood, activities, and any important notes from our time together.

  • What do you do in case of an emergency?

During our Meet and Greet, we will discuss the preferences you have for your home and pet. If an emergency occurs with your pet we would like for you to instruct us on how to handle the situation before making a trip to the Vet. Emergency contact information and specific instructions will be collected before pet-sitting services take place.

Policies & Payments

  • What forms of payment does KPAC accept?

KPAC accepts: Cash, Cash App, Venmo, Checks or Zelle for payment.

  • How does Kristal’s Paws and Cuddles handle key pick-up and return?

To ensure smooth access to your home and the safety of your pets, I require key access arrangements as part of our service. You can either provide a key during the initial Meet and Greet or choose to keep a key on file with me for future visits.

If you do not provide a key during the Meet and Greet or prefer not to leave a key on file, I will need to schedule a separate trip to pick up or drop off your key. A $10 fee applies for each additional visit if your home is more than 5 miles from Kristal’s Paws and Cuddles’ business location.

Alternatively, you may provide other methods of access, such as a lockbox code, garage door code, hidden key, or a neighbor with a spare key.  All keys are labeled discreetly and stored securely at my office to protect your privacy. I do not leave keys inside your home or lock them inside after the last visit.

  • What should I do if I need to cancel or reschedule a service?

Please notify us as soon as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule a service. To understand the details and any applicable fees, please read our full Cancellation Policy. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
